“There is no greater agony than bearing an
untold story inside you.“
― Maya Angelou
I approach every session with gratitude, openness, and transparency. I work to create a safe place to share emotions and process through difficult situations and events. I am a trauma trained therapist and use CBT, TF-CBT, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, DBT, Mindful Movement, Motivational Interviewing, Social Skills, Life Skills, and Harm Reduction Approach to substance abuse. There are times when we need to heal from trauma and then other times we need a listening ear for the day-to-day stresses that we experience. I am able to hold space for both and issues in between.
I want to work on what you feel is important and I tailor my approach to each individual. Therapy isn’t just about thoughts it’s about how your body and brain are connected and both are extraordinary in the way they can heal you. Together we can develop healthy and helpful coping skills, disrupt patterns that cause distress, and address how trauma and stress affect your body. I believe self-compassion and the therapeutic relationship are the driving forces that make therapy beneficial.
